Job Purpose:
To provide expert legal services and perform legal assignments of major importance in the Bank that will have a significant impact on its operations, strategies, and
profitability.
Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Counsels management whenever legally unsound decisions or plans are being made or when changes in the law occur.
- Works closely with the GM, Head of Risk Management and top management to advise them on changes in laws and regulations, evaluate their impact on the Bank, and
develop the Bank s positions on such changes.
- Conducts strong legal analysis to diagnose what needs to be done to build positions and cases that can prevail in court and to create and find interpretations and strategies that can accomplish the uncommon in the law.
- Supervises preparation of the defence litigation. Works with Banks legal retainers to develop the defence; briefs and guides them and supervises their work. Assists in
court trials and recommends whether a case should be tried or settled.
- Initiates and/or challenges legal policies.
- Provides research, factual information, counsel and guidance on legal questions or issues to various departments across the Bank.
- Supervise and participate in the preparation and review of all contracts between the Bank and customers including syndication, corporate and investment management, HR, contractors, consultants and lessors.
- Prepare restructuring contracts where corporate L/cs have fallen in the special asset management categories.
- Prepares memoranda, initial drafts, and final drafts or legal documents as and when required.
Background and Experience
Post Graduate Degree from an internationally recognized law school.
Work Experience A minimum of 15 years experience in the legal profession with 5 years as a legal advisor for a commercial Bank preferably in the Gulf.

Excellent Communication Skills- Bilingual (Arabic / English)
Salary: AED 40000-40000 Monthly, negotiable
